Busy Week

Life just flies right by, doesn't it? This week was so busy! Most things that happened I can't even remember now, but here are some of the highlights. We'll start on Saturday. Nana and Granddad came by with Bella, their new puppy, which was of course a huge hit! My camera had a moment on that day, so I just have a small blurry shot of the introduction. Tony and I went to Luigi's Saturday for a special sending off lunch for our friend Gabe. He is swimming this week in Omaha, in the Olympic Trials. Again, regrettably, I didn't have my camera and actually have no pics of the fun lunch we shared with our friends. However, over at Staci's blog, there are a few... along with updates from the trials. Then, Saturday evening was Miss Abigail's 2nd birthday party. The kids had so much fun. Probably too much fun, as we had to cut the night short because Jaden was getting quite out of control. Sunday was, as I remember, very restful. Aubrey had a cold, so we stayed home from church. Tony took Jaden to the Baptism/Potluck on Sunday afternoon and watched our dear friend Kristin, among others in our church family, get baptised. They had a wonderful time. Monday, I don't even remember. Tuesday morning, Tony left for Omaha! He went with our friends Nick, John and Kristin to encourage and cheer Gabe on as he competes. They have been having a wonderful time! I went over to Jen's (the other half of Nick, who is off with Tony) today for a play date, which of course I forgot to take my camera to. I guess I should just be thankful I remembered all of my kids! We had a blast with them. I got home today, watched Gabe qualify for the finals tomorrow, and went to church. Last but not least, I took this evening to spend some special time with Jaden. Since Baylee is with Grandma, we had a special "Mommy and Jaden" night. On our way home from church, we got some ice cream and watched cartoons until he couldn't take it anymore. And, when Daddy's away... :)

The rest of these pics are just me having fun with my camera.

From my CF card

This picture is from the finals in the Kern County Open a couple years ago. Tony played with Mike Haddad, who he had coached for several years. They had so much fun. Tony is playing again this year with his friend Mark Windes. It is July 12th-18th. I'm really looking forward to seeing him play again!

Playdate

We were finally able to get together with Randi and have a playdate today! Other than Miss Baylee being on a little power trip, we had so much fun. It dawned on me as I was taking this picture that we have 5 kiddos between the two of us! It's funny, I can look at this picture and see, in order, Steven, Myself, Tony, DJ and Randi! Just like, little miniature versions of us. Super cute. Be sure to click on Randi's name to see Abbie's 2nd birthday pics which are absolutely adorable!

Pray for the Bussells!

This shocking story reminded me of the urgency to lift our brother and sister up in prayer. http://www.rr.com/view/content/story.cfm?storyid=5285943&newsgroup=9000&view=HOME&page=1

Meet Chexie

The newest member of the family.... my mom's new horse. :) We took the kids out to meet her on Sunday afternoon, and of course they loved her. She is a four year old mare, very sweet and gentle. Apparently, she is registered as black, but looks rather brown to me. She is going to be so much fun! She will be boarded for a while before they can take her home. Her boarding place is out by our house, my mom gets to go out there are take lessons and spend time with her. Here she is getting to know the family.

Quote of the Week

“Every time we look at the cross Christ seems to say to us, ‘I am here because of you. It is your sin I am bearing, your curse I am suffering, your debt I am paying, your death I am dying.’ Nothing in history or in the universe cuts us down to size like the cross. All of us have inflated views of ourselves, especially in self-righteousness, until we have visited a place called Calvary. It is here, at the foot of the cross, that we shrink to our true size.”

From my CF card

This picture was taken at Jaden's third birthday party. Grandpa made up a fun game that involved hitting the balloons and yelling, "Down!" Grandpas are so cool! Baylee has loved Grandpa from day one.

First Brush!

Last night, was Aubrey's first time brushing his teeth. I know, I'm a little late, he's had his bottom teeth for a month or more, but his top teeth have been coming in very slowly and I didn't want to hurt him. He's finally got all 4 in, so we got him the little einsteins toothbrush like Jaden and Baylee had, and let him go at it. (Yes, I did it myself when he was done.) He loved it! Of course, he loves to have anything in his mouth. He was really mad when I took it away, he had his little hand so tight around that thing I almost couldn't get it away. Now there are three sets of teeth to brush, what a blessing!

From my CF card

This picture is only about a year old, it was Jaden's first time hitting balls. He had so much fun. I love this picture, he's so little. He wanted to carry his own clubs, but didn't like them being strapped to his back, so he struggled to carry them all the way out to the tee. And, yes, that is Hugh out there hitting balls because it wouldn't be a driving range without Hugh. I'm just not sure where my dad was that night. :)

Quote of the Week

Morality is a neat cover for foul venom, but it does not alter the fact that the heart is vile, and the man himself is under damnation. Men will be damned with good works as well as without them, if they make them their confidence (rather than Jesus Christ).

It's Official

I now have 3 mobile children. Life just got a little more complicated! :)
He's getting fast too, and when he must be contained...

We throw him in the bucket.

Is it pathetic to be jealous of your own daughter?

What she lacks in coordination, she makes up for in a head full of gorgeous hair. I mean, seriously, does this look like a 2 year old???

Music!

Okay, I've been wanting to add music to the blog for a long time and finally figured out how to do it. The kids helped me pick the songs. :) If they are annoying to you, the player is at the very bottom of the page and you can just turn it off. We have interesting taste in music to be sure. Enjoy!

The Wonder of the Cross

This is my *current* favorite song. Yes, my favorites change frequently. :) I just had to share the lyrics to this song though, because they are so powerful. Happy Lord's Day!

O precious sight, my Savior stands,
Dying for me with outstretched hands.
O precious sight, I love to gaze,
Remembering salvation’s day,
Remembering salvation’s day.
Though my eyes linger on this scene,
May passing time and years not steal
The power with which it impacts me,
The freshness of its mystery,
The freshness of its mystery.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.
May I see it like the first time
Standing as a sinner lost,
Undone by mercy and left speechless,
Watching wide eyed at the cost.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.
Behold the God-man crucified,
The perfect sinless sacrifice.
As blood ran down those nails and wood,
History was split in two, yes,
History was split in two.
Behold the empty wooden tree,
His body gone, alive and free.
We sing with everlasting joy,
For sin and death have been destroyed, yes,
Sin and death have been destroyed.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.
May I see it like the first time
Standing as a sinner lost,
Undone by mercy and left speechless,
Watching wide eyed at the cost.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.
May I see it like the first time
Standing as a sinner lost,
Undone by mercy and left speechless,
Watching wide eyed at the cost.
May I never lose the wonder,
The wonder of the cross.

From my CF card

I have decided to add a new weekly post on Saturdays called, "From my CF card". These will just be old pictures that I love, that otherwise probably would never again see the light of day. Here is the first one of Jaden and Baylee, 10 weeks and 2 years. Who does she remind you of with those cheeks???

Happy Birthday Jaden!

Today is my little man's 4th birthday! I can't believe it's been that long. Jaden has brought so much joy to our lives. He's got such zeal for life. Every morning he runs into our room yelling, "Good Morning! It's a beautiful day! I love you Mommy and Daddy!" He's so excited just to be alive. Sometimes his enthusiasm exhausts me. He is constantly on the go, always asking questions and observing every little detail of life. He never stops talking. His little voice fills my days from 6:00am to 7:00pm. He says the funniest things, he's a little comedian at heart. He loves to make people laugh. He is also very devoted to his family and friends. He adores his brother and sister and is convinced that he needs "lots more babies". He's just a constant joy. He pushes me way out of my comfort zone in public, introducing himself to everyone he sees. And if that is not enough, asking them personal questions about their activities, families, or anything else he's curious about. He always makes sure to introduce his new friends to me, after he has met them, like he has known them for years. If Tony's the one with him, he says "This is my Daddy, he takes good care of me" ...every time. :) We love our little guy. Happy Birthday Jaden Mighty Knight!

Quote of the Week

Wisdom is the right of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.
